Algae
Algae lives on dust, pollen and the materials in your shingles, and grows under and behind the granules. Heavy algae can superheat your attic and raise your cooling bill.
Don't Replace Your Roof. Restore It.
Got stains or moss? We soft wash the algae, moss, mold and lichen off your shingles with no high pressure, and your roof looks new again.

The Truth About Replacement
Well over 70% of the roofs replaced each year aren't worn out. They're replaced because the homeowner doesn't like how dirty the roof looks. Call a roofing contractor about stains and you'll usually hear one answer: replace it.
One of our customers was trying to sell their home and believed they had to replace the roof first. They called us instead. We cleaned and restored the roof, the house sold two days later, and they saved several thousand dollars.

Don't Replace Your Roof - Clean It 0:31
Our Soft Wash Process
We use a safe, environmentally friendly no-pressure roof cleaning system. The algaecide is mixed on site specifically to kill and remove algae, moss, mold and lichen.
Our applicators apply a blend of detergents, surfactants, disinfectants and algaecide to the whole roof.
The algae dies in minutes. Moss and lichen turn white and need a few days to loosen.
We rinse with no/low pressure and no scrubbing, so the granules stay on your shingles.
What's Growing on Your Roof
Stains show up first on the north and west sides of a roof and in shady spots, where the roof stays damp longest.
Algae lives on dust, pollen and the materials in your shingles, and grows under and behind the granules. Heavy algae can superheat your attic and raise your cooling bill.
Lichen roots dig into the shingle for food and leave dark spots and pock marks where they grow. Remove it early to stop the damage.
Moss starts between the shingles and keeps the roof damp, which erodes the shingles and promotes wood rot. Left alone, it can cover a roof like green carpet.
Protecting Your Shingles
Scrubbing or pressure washing knocks thousands of granules off asphalt shingles. Those granules reflect sunlight, which keeps your attic cooler and your air conditioning bill lower. The faster a roof loses granules, the sooner it needs replacing.
With the right cleaning solution, no scrubbing is needed. We spray it on with a no-pressure pump, give it a few minutes to kill the algae, then rinse gently.
We clean the whole roof. Stains in one area usually mean algae has already taken hold everywhere.

Half cleaned: stained shingles on the left, soft washed shingles on the right.
We're an authorized Roof-A-Cide applicator. Roof-A-Cide keeps a roof clean for up to two years, and applied every two years, the stains are guaranteed not to return.
